Every year, the Ghanaian National Committee (NC) sends out invitations to all public sector school heads through Ghana Education Service, GES for suitable candidates to apply to attend the UWCs.

Students who will be in Senior High School form 3(SHS 3), starting September 2018 are qualified to apply for 2019 entry.  Applicants should be strong candidates for University admission and should be between 16 ½ up to 18 years in September 2019. Such applicants should be academically strong, articulate, and socially grounded.  Four (4) best candidates of each school fill out the application forms and submit to the NC for review. Shortlisted candidates are invited for written examinations in Accra or Kumasi. Those who are successful in the exams are invited for an interview.
